The wrong bra? How you can tell?

Kate Horrell, fitting expert for the online lingerie shop figleaves.com, recommends looking closely in the mirror for the telltale signs that you're wearing the wrong bra size.

The underband is riding up

Lift up your arms to see whether the bra is tight enough. The underband should fit firmly against the body so that it does not slide about during normal activity.

The shoulder straps are digging in

The underband of a bra provides the majority (80 per cent) of support for the breasts, with the straps providing just 20 per cent. If the bra straps are digging in, it could be because the underband is too loose and you are over-adjusting the straps to feel supported. When you do this, the straps pull the bra up at the back, another sign that the band is too loose.

The centre fold is lifting away from the body

The centre front of the bra should lie flat against the body. If it doesn't, the cups could be too small.

The back band is overstretched

If your straps are too far apart at the back (they should be parallel), it may be that your bra band is too small and so is overstretching.

Inflammatory Breast Cancer

HEAR ABOUT INFLAMMATORY BREAST CANCER

http://www.thermogramcenter.com/IBC.htm

Inflammatory breast cancer is more likely to occur if you are overweight or obese, and is on the increase.

Linked directly to the lymphatic system cancer cells blocking the lymph vessels in the skin of the breast.

SIGNS and SYMPTOMS

These changes can often occur quickly over a period of weeks and you must be alerted straight away!

The overlying breast may show colour changes and may appear pink, purple, or bruised.

Unusual redness, warmth or sesitivity, the breast may become unusually swollen and very tender.

It may have ridges or appear pitted, like the skin of an orange (called peau d'orange).

Nipple may show signs of change, colour, inverted nipple.

Lymph nodes in the armpit may often be swollen in cases of inflammatory breast cancer.

This type of cancer does not show up on a mammograme and doesn`t always have a lump. This is why it can go unnoticed and untreated.

It is a much more aggressive type of breast cancer and has a 45% less chance of survival, so ensure you are Breast Wise to stop lymph blockage and from this particular breast cancer from developing.

DO VISIT this site below for more information and pictures about inflammatory breast cancer. Be warned some of the pictures are quite distressing and very graphic.

Underwear could be key in fight against lymphoedema
Written by IMN

Ill-fitting underwear could be putting people at risk of developing lymphoedema after undergoing lumpectomy surgery, according to new research. Researchers have found evidence showing that tight bras and underpants could be putting excessive pressure on the lymphatic system of patients.

Prof Neil Piller, the lead researcher at the Flinder Medical Centre in Adelaide, Australia, told IMN that his initial research showed that pressure on the lymphatic system could slow the flow of blood through the system. “It seems that those people who get lymphoedema seem to have other intra-lymphatic pressures than those who don’t,” he explained.

Prof Piller added that doctors should urge patients to wear loose-fitting clothing to reduce the risk of lymphoedema as a precautionary measure. “Once it [lymphoedema] starts, it’s hard to bring the limb back to totally normal. It [the lymphatic system] is like a sewerage system and slowing the flow, or stopping it, is not good for cell and tissue health,” he said.

“In some of our patients, the external pressure was way in excess of what average intra-lymphatic pressures should be, so there may be some slowing of lymph flow. In those who had axillary clearance, of course the main lymphatic drainage pathway that is likely to survive is that which goes over the lateral shoulder and drains into the supraclavicular lymph node system, and this is where the bra strap sits,” he stressed.

Prof Piller stressed that women need to be aware of the need to get fitted for underwear properly, as too much pressure around the shoulder, armpit and breast can restrict lymph flow. “Tight bras may not only precipitate or worsen breast oedema/lymphoedema, but also arm lymphoedema. “We recommend wearing looser fitting underwear,” he concluded.

What The Doctors Say!

DON`T  WAIT  FOR  CHANGE,    PREVENT  IT  HAPPENING   !!!!

What the Doctors SAY!

Michael Schacter M.D .writes "Any activity which will help to remove accumulated toxins in the breasts will help to reduce the chances of developing breast cancer. It is the job of the lymphatic system of the body to help drain toxic substances from tissues and poor lymphatic drainage may play a role in breast cancer formation. Lymph flow is very sensitive to constricting external pressure which can impede flow."

Dr Gerald Lemole writes "Toxic agents can effect the lymphatic system as well as many other bodily functions. Such irriatants do not automatically disappear in the lymphatics. However, the more cleanly flowing your lymphatic system, the more likely it is they will be carried to the liver where they can be metabolized and excreted out through the urine."

Dr Marika von Viczay, N.D., Ph.D. Medical Director of the Isis Health and Rejuvenation Centre in Ashville, North Carolina, says. “Not only is lymphatic drainage a key to disease prevention and rejuvenation, it is the means to reverse and contribute to the natural healing processes of the human system for a host of illnesses, including breast cancer.”

Latest figures show that, unless action is taken soon, by 2024 one in seven women will develop breast cancer by the age of 80. This is exacerbated by the general increase in obesity, which is related to inflammatory breast cancer with 45% less survival rate.

New Form of Breast cancer

New kind of Breast Cancer
Women, PLEASE be alert to anything that is not normal, and be persistent in getting help as soon as possible.

Please forward to all of the women in your lives . Mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, friends, etc.

TO ALL READERS:

This is sad as women are not aware of Paget's disease. If, by passing this around on the e-mail, we can make others aware of it and its potential danger, we are helping women everywhere.

In November, a rare kind of breast cancer was found. A lady developed a rash on her breast, similar to that of young mothers who are nursing.

Because her mammogram had been clear, the doctor treated her with antibiotics for infections. After 2 rounds, it continued to get worse, so her doctor sent her for another mammogram This time it showed a mass.

A biopsy found a fast growing malignancy. Chemo was started in order to shrink the growth; then a mastectomy was performed; then a full round of Chemo; then radiation. After about 9 months of intense treatment, she was given a clean bill of health.

She had one year of living each day to its fullest. Then the cancer returned to the liver area. She took 4 treatments and decided that she wanted quality of life, not the after effects of Chemo. She had 5 great months and she planned each detail of the final days. After a few days of needing morphine, she died. She left this message to be delivered to women everywhere:

Paget's Disease:

This is a rare form of breast cancer, and is on the outside of the breast, on the nipple and aureole It appeared as a rash, which later became a lesion with a crusty outer edge. I would not have ever suspected it to be breast cancer but it was. My nipple never seemed any different to me, but the rash bothered me, so I went to the doctor for that. Sometimes, it itched and was sore, but other than that it didn't bother me. It was just ugly and a nuisance, and could not be cleared up with all the creams prescribed by my doctor and dermatologist for the dermatitis on my eyes just prio r to this outbreak. They seemed a little concerned but did not warn me it could be cancerous.

Now, I suspect not many women out there know a lesion or rash on the nipple or aureole can be breast cancer. (Mine started out as a single red pimple on the aureole. One of the biggest problems with Paget's dis ease of the nipple is that the symptoms appear to be harmless. It is frequently thought to be a skin inflammation or infection, leading to unfortunate delays in detection and care.)

What are the symptoms?

1. A persistent redness, oozing, and crusting of your nipple causing it to itch and burn (As I stated, mine did not itch or burn much, and had no oozing I was aware of, but it did have a crust along the outer edge on one side.)

2. A sore on your nipple that will not heal. (Mine was on the aureole area with a whitish thick looking area in center of nipple).

3. Usually only one nipple is effected. How is it diagnosed? Your doctor will do a physical exam and should suggest having a mammogram of both breasts, done immediately. Ev en though the redness, oozing and crusting closely resemble dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), your doctor should suspect cancer if the sore is only on one breast. Your doctor should order a biopsy of your sore to confirm what is going on.

This message should be taken seriously and passed on to as many of your relatives and friends as possible; it could save someone's life

My breast cancer has spread and metastasized to my bones after receiving mega doses of chemotherapy, 28 treatments of radiation and taking Tamaxofin. If this had been diagnosed as breast cancer in the beginning, perhaps it would not have spread...
